Sheltering 1,000 children from Gaza

Hosting families (France)

Every day, thousands of children in Gaza endure the devastating impact of war. In response to this humanitarian emergency — as we did in 1992 for the children of Bosnia — our association is launching the “Sheltering 1,000 Children from Gaza” initiative. This effort will allow a significant number of children under the age of 10, accompanied by their mothers and siblings, to find refuge with host families in France — offering them a respite of peace, safety, and renewed hope.

How will we welcome them?

  • Initial Arrival and Orientation:
Upon arrival, the children and their families will be welcomed into our Reception and Exchange Center for a two-week integration period. Here, they will begin learning basic French, become familiar with local customs, and receive any needed psychological or medical support in a compassionate, structured environment.
  • Meeting Host Families:
Host families will be invited to meet the children and their relatives, establishing bonds of trust and preparing everyone for the next step in their journey.
  • Family Stay:
The children and their families will then move into the homes of French host families — far from the trauma of conflict — for a stay whose length will depend on evolving circumstances. We are committed to preserving the families’ cultural identity and will provide host families with resources to understand and respectfully engage with Palestinian traditions.

Ongoing Support and How You Can Help

Throughout the entire stay, families will receive comprehensive medical, psychological, and legal assistance. Just as we did during the war in Bosnia, we will establish dedicated emergency and support units to respond to every need with compassion and professionalism.

But we cannot do this alone. We need you. Only together can we bring this project to life — and give these children the care and hope they so urgently deserve.

We are currently seeking:

  • Host families willing to open their homes — and their hearts.
  • Volunteers in key areas: medicine, child psychiatry, nursing, psychological support, refugee and immigration law, administrative and logistical support.
  • Donors to help fund the reception efforts, support host families as needed, and cover the logistics essential to making this project a success.

Why give or get involved?

  • Because even the smallest act of kindness can transform a life.
  • Because your support helps build a bridge between cultures, and offers vulnerable children a chance at a safer, more dignified future.

How you can help:

  • Become a host family or volunteer: Complete the form below to join our network.
  • Make a donation — every contribution, no matter how modest, brings us one step closer to our goal.

Together, we can offer these children peace, safety, and the dignity they deserve.
Thank you for standing with us.
